Matthew 1: The Genealogy of Jesus Christ

Published

on

The genealogy of Jesus Christ. Matthew began this Gospel by portraying the lineage of the Lord Jesus to prove to the Jews that Hew was the Messiah announced in the Scriptures, the One they waited so long for (Isa. 11.1-5). The genealogies were important to the people of Israel, especially when the entered the land of Canaan, where each tribe would take possession of their inheritance.

It was necessary to have a perfect record of everyone’s ancestors to determine which tribe they belonged to.

For example, if a man wanted to become a priest, he would have to prove that he belonged to a the tribe of Levi and were of priestly lineage. That is why Matthew carefully recorded the generations that followed from Abraham to David, to prove that the prophecies were perfectly fulfilled in the Lord Jesus. God had promised that the Messiah woudl be a descendant of Abraham to David, to prove that the prophecies were perfectly fulfillied in the Lord Jesus. God had promised that the Messiah would be a descendant of Abraham (Gen. 12.3; 22.18; 49.10), which made Him a Jew and a descendant of David (2 Sam. 7.12-16; Jer. 23.5), giving Him a legal right to the throne.

God tested Abraham. Here we have one of the most beautiful parts of the Bible. No man was tested as much as Abraham, but then no one was as honored either.

God led him to the extremes of faith!

He had already been tested when he left his country of birth, his family and his father’s house to go to a land that he did not yet know about.

But now the request of the Eternal One would test him to the core, so that, in turn, His Covenant with him and his descendants would be confirmed. When God tests, it is because He wants to accomplish something much greater than anything we desire. When He asks for the best we have, it is because He intends to give us His best

Matthew 22: The Parable of the Wedding Feast

Published

on

The wedding garment refers to the righteousness of the saints (Rev. 19.8), which comes through pure and genuine faith in the Lord Jesus and justifies us before God. Many people are wearing a fake garment, that is to say, they have a fake faith.

Although they believe in Jesus, have received a few blessings, and attend church regularly, they continue to contradict God’s will by their actions.

They seem t have a pure faith, and their garments seem perfectly genuine, but the Lord see what no one else can – grudges in their hearts, malice, pride, selfishness, evil intentions, spiritual neglect, emotion faith, unreliability, hypocrisy, and everything else that makes them unworthy to participate in the marriage of the Lamb (Rev. 19.7).

Genesis 21: Isaac Is Born

The Lord visited Sarah. The birth of Isaac guaranteed the continuation of the Abrahamic Covenant. The Most High not only cured Sarah’s barrenness, but renewed the organs of her body so that she became young again. Abraham waited 25 years to see the promise fulfilled. This shows that everything happens at the time the Lord God determines. As time passes, one by one His promises will be fulfilled.
