The ox used to help man in his work of trading grain, and so it was reasonable for it not to be muzzled, so its mouth could be free to eat during its effort. This shows justice and reward for work that is done.

The apostle Paul uses this example to show the right for preacher of the Gospel to be sustained by the church or by the community in which he works (1 Cor. 9.9)
