God’s purpose for marriage is for it to be a union that surpasses a physical connection. Man and wife should become one before Him. This symbolizes the union between God and humanity, which should also be unbreakable. On the Alter, the couple assumes the commitment of overcoming differences and difficulties.

For this reason, the Scriptures do not encourage divorce, for the process of separation is difficult for the couple, especially when they have children.

While there is a chance, however small, reconciliation should be considered.

In the times of Moses, the Eternal One gave instructions to regulate problems that existed in marriage due to the hardness of the human heart. The Lord Jesus confirmed this years later, when He gave value to the sanctity of marriage (Matt. 19.3-9).

Even though divorce is widely accepted today God’s will regarding marriage has never changed.
