Acts 8: Saul Persecutes the Church
Saul was consenting to his death. On the same day of Stephen’s death, Saul began a huge wave of persecution against the Church out of the great hatred in his heart against the followers of the Saviour. Saul thought he was doing a service to God by consenting tho the killing of Stephen and persecuting Christians. the Lord Jesus had spoken about his to His disciples (John 16.2).
This forced Christians to scatter to other regions, such as Judea and Samaria. It shows that God often uses situations that are difficult tot understand for his purpose. Until then, the teaching of the Gospel had mainly been focused in Jerusalem, but because of the persecution, it had spread out and reached other places.
When the Lord is in control, out and reached other places. When the lord is in control bad times are not the end of a dream, but the beginning of a new story. When faith is tooted in Him, these situations become starting points for a great work to be done.
