Balance discipline. It is meant to correct those who are stubborn and making mistakes, to lead them to God’s presence and preserve the integrity of the Church.

So, rebuke or discipline cannot be applied in an excessive way, to the point of discouraging those who have failed to receive God’s forgiveness and compassion.

It is worth mentioning that insults, rejection, and offenses do not contribute to anyone’s repentance. In an attempt to help, many people discipline more than is necessary in the name of faith, which causes suffering that does not restore a person’s soul, but destroy’s their hope of getting back up again.
