Look to Abraham! Israel and Judah sinned and did not repent, so they were delivered to destruction. But a remnant, this is , a small group of people, would survive in Babylonian captivity and return to their land. Once delivered from Persian rule, the Jews would rebuild their nation.

This seemed impossible in the eyes of man, so the Most High used the example of Abraham to awaken their faith.

When the patriarch was chosen, he was only one (Ezek. 33.24). Also, it was impossible for him to beget a nation because Sarah, his wife, was barren. the modest beginning of this couple, who conceived their son in old age (Abraham was a hundred years old and Sarah was ninety), and their persevering obedience made them both a reference for all generations. Abraham and Sarah did not become parents to Israel alone, but to all those who believe in the Word of God (Rom. 4.16-22). Imitation their faith and trust in times of adversity generates vigor and testament forever.

When I called, was there none to answer? the Almighty had sent prophet to call His people to repentance and to return to the genuine faith. However, the people did not listen to His Voice.

By choosing to resist God, Israel turned itself into slavery.

The nations was not suffering defeat and oppression because the power of the Most High had diminished. On the contrary, He affirmed that His Hand, a symbol of His strength, had not been shortened nor was it powerless, but was firm both that bless and to discipline.

People are free to make their own decisions and even to say “no” to the call of conversion. But they need to be conscious of the judgment they will suffer because of the choice.
