A living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. The sacrifice of the Levites that consisted of the death of an animal, typified the redemptive Work of the Lord Jesus.

He, as the Lamb of God, offered His Life as the One and Only sacrifice for our sins. That is why the Altar which received dead animals began to receive living sacrifices from people redeemed by the perfect sacrifice of the One who made Himself sinful for us.

Once we were dead in our iniquities, but God raised us up with the Lord Jesus and gave us life together with Him.

Before the knowledge of the Truth, our body was used for sin, but now what the Holy spirit wants is that each of us offer our bodies for His service and for the dwelling of His glory (6.13,19).

To be a living sacrifice is to surrender to the entire disposition of the Lord, for He demands holiness. That is, the Lord wants us to deprive ourselves of the wills of the flesh, thoughts, and actions of the old creature, in order to be used by Him.

When that happens, God, from His Throne, breathes our attitude as a pleasant aroma, which exudes the fragrance of the Lord Jesus.
