This was the only way the goal of becoming a holy nation could indeed be fulfilled. It was not a question of racial supremacy or prejudice toward foreigners, but it was an issue of spiritual purity. Since they were worshipers of other gods, those women would influence the children of Israel to commit the same sin. At that time, separation was required, yet now, if someone who knows the Lord Jesus is marred to one who does not know Him, they could help their partner convert to Him through their faith and testimony. But for those who are single, practicing this teaching of marrying someone with the same spiritual principles protects their Salvation and prevents relationship failures.
