Woe is me! The prophet’s soul wants to see the fruit of what he planted. He wants to see people coming out of apostasy. But he is disappointed and compares himself to a farmer who returns to his crops at harvest time after his long hard labor.

But when he gets there, he finds no clusters of grapes, nor even an early fig to reward his efforts.

With this, Micah shows his sadness and agony at the unfaithfulness of the people. His message of repentance caused him to feel dejection and deep pain to see such corruption and insensitivity in the nation.
