Jeremiah 5: The Justice of God’s Judgment

The search for a righteous man. The call to repentance had already been made to the simplest people in society but, among them, there was no faithfulness or sensitivity to hear the Divine Voice.

They were rebuked but they did not feel the pain of the discipline.

The same opportunity for repentance was given to the rich and powerful but, although they were well instructed in the Mosaic Law, they lived in disagreement with its teaching.

Their disregard and lack of interest ended in the destruction of the people. A hardened heart is a characteristic of those who live far Most High. They fail to realize that their soul can be destroyed if they do not submit to God.

The Hebrew’s Lives began at this point, and so this month was considered the most important. By changing their calendar, God demonstrated that nothing would continue to be the same. Important events like a new job, marriage, a university degree, the birth of a child, all change our lives, but none of this compares to when we come to know the Lord Jesus . Only then does true life begin. The years we spent “enjoying”” the pleasures of this world, in slavery and suffering , are then only remembered as a testimony of the greatness and power of God.

Take heed to yourselves. Before teaching about forgiveness, the Lord Jesus asked everyone to examine themselves. He earnestly urged all of us to pay careful attention to our conduct so we do not offend or cause others to stumble in faith. Hurting yourself is unthinkable; so, imagine how insane it would be to hurt others. Doing so will generate pain in both the victim and perpetrator.
