Jeremiah 27: Symbol of the Bonds and Yokes
Bonds and yokes. To show what would soon happen to the rest of the nation, God commands Jeremiah to put a yoke with bonds on his neck.
In this symbolic art, the prophet would awaken the curiosity of the people.
They would know the Message that God wanted to deliver: Judah would safer under the yoke of Babylon, and best that they could do was to not resist the Chaldean king. The Lord finds ways to attract and guide people to a knowledge of the Truth, but only by following it can they be freed from all suffering.
