Not in truth or in righteousness. Even though the people came from the ”house of Jacob” and the “wellsprings of Judah,” which means they would begin the lineage of the Messiah, there was no sincerity in their actions. The people seemed to serve God, for they fulfilled their religious rites, but there was no integrity or holiness in their conduct.

Nowadays, how many people have the fluent vocabulary of a religious person, but their faith is limited to their lips?

They are seemingly pious but live in the practice of injustice, they show spirituality but are hypocrites. The holy injustice; they show spirituality but are hypocrites. The holy and true character of God will not allow Him to come and rescue the false or declare the wicked innocent.
