Babylon is personified by a virgin daughter, a proud princess sitting on her throne. But her glory would come to an end because she would lose her reign and would sit in the dust, without riches or power.

The prestige and privileges of former times would turn into shame and pain.

Babylon symbolizes everything that opposes God – be it a political, religious, or economic domain. When judged and condemned by the Almighty, people, systems, or institutions that oppose Him will fall, no matter how controlling and influential they may be (Rev. 18).
