Isaiah 38: Hezekiah’s Life Extended

A deadly disease. Struggles are a part of life. Hezekiah had just overcome Assyria’s threats and he now faced a deadly disease.

His affliction was great, for he did not receive the news that he would die from the doctors, but from God Himself.

The warning came together with a recommendation for him to ‘set his house in order’, that is, for him to resolve all matters pertaining to the kingdom and his personal life.

The Passsover was one of the Jewish celebrations. It was in rmembrance of the angel passing through the land of Egypt to strike all the firstborn. However, the children of Israel were spared, because they had the markof the blood of the lamb of the doorposts. (Exod. 12.7-13).

In the same way, the Lord Jesus is the Lamb God who was sacrificed for us. His Blood cleanses us from our sins and delivers us from eternal death (John 1.29).

Genesis 25: Abraham and Keturah

Before dying, Abraham wanted to be certain that all that the Most High had promised him through the Covenant would continue on to Isaac. So, he left all he had to him, including the most important thing: his blessing. Isaac inherited his father’s Godly authority.

God would be with him as He had been with Abraham. This meant that even if Isaac did not receive any physical goods for his father, the blessing that was passed on to him would enable him to create even greater riches.

This same blessing has been passed down, from generation to generation, and now it has reach us, through faith in the Lord Jesus.

This is God the Father’s inheritance for His children, giving them the freedom to accomplish their dreams here on earth, within His will (Gal. 3.29).
