Isaiah 36: Sennacherib Boasts Against the Lord
Sennacherb, king of Assyria, and Hezekiah, king of Judah, reigned simultaneously in their respective nations.
Between chapters 36 and 39, we see the military campaigns of the Assyrian monarch against several kingdoms, such as Philistia, Egypt, and Judah.
There are parallel Bible accounts registered in the Second Book of Kings, chapters 18 to 20. Hezekiah, though sometimes failed, is described as a righteous and faithful king to the Lord (2 kings 18.5).
