Tyre was one of the most remarkable commercial hubs in the world. It had an important port on the Mediterranean cost. Even in the days of Solomon, deals were made to buy materials for the Temple. (1 Kings 5.8-9).

The prosperity of the people of Tyre culminated in pride, dishonesty and injustice, so their lands were invaded by Assyria.

The nation would live under oppression for seventy years, and after that would again be a considerable commercial center, for it would again do business with other kingdoms of the world. Likewise, those who repent of their sins are also restored and have the opportunity to start a new life.
