Exodus 27: The Altar of Burnt Offering
On the Altar of burnt offering, animals would be sacrificed as an offering to the Most High, for the remission of the sins of the people.
It was the first utensil at the entrance to the court to show that there would only be life, forgiveness, or Salvation if there were communion with Him through the Altar.
This means that before maintaining a relationship with God, a person must admit their guilt and be willing to leave their iniquities behind.
