Exodus 17: Water form the Rock
Due to disbelief when faced with difficulties, the Hebrews were once again disapproved in their faith. Instead of believing, they sought someone to blame for their problems – in this case, Moses, who was almost stoned.
Thus, they showed that they were not prepared to become a nation.
Note that, just as obedience demonstrates faith, disbelief reveals a perverse heart.
Struggles exist not to lead us to sin, but to lead us to honor the Almighty God with our trust.
