The plan of the Most High for the people was not limited to their deliverance and to the possession of the land of Canaan. On the contrary, His objective was to form a great nation, so that through it, other nations could come to know Him.

Therefore, the Hebrews needed to develop their faith, learn to obey and be spiritually mature. This was the reason for the journey through the dessert.

But they could not understand that, so they resented the Lord; they complained because they only expected blessings. Christians who only expect benefits after their conversion end up frustrated.
