Joshua 1: God’s Commission to Joshua
God as warrior has armed each person with this individual sword, but only those who use it take possession of what they want.
Taking possession of the Promised Land was the greatest dream for the Hebrew people. They waited a total of almost five centuries for it to happen. And now the opportunity to possess it was right in front of them, but they first needed to cross the Jordan River to overcome the enemies on the other side.
We face similar battles in our lives, and the greatest of all is not conquering a plot of land but finding Salvation.
The Lord Jesus already won it for us on the cross, but it is up to those who really want it to live in daily warfare and confront spiritual enemies. There are various Bible promises for our lives here on earth as well, but just dwelling on your dreams is not enough to fulfill them. You need to use faith, humanity’s main weapon of warfare. God as warrior has armed each person with this individual sword, but only those who use it take possession of what they want.
