The city of Jerusalem was safe, now it was going to be inhabited. I

t was an honor to dwell in the same place where the Temple stood – the spiritual center of the world at the time.

This city is so special that that Lord God has prepared a heavenly Jerusalem as our eternal dwelling place (Heb. 11.10). But there is one condition to live there: to be born of the Spirit (John 3.5) and have your name written in the Book of Life. The New Jerusalem (Rev. 21) is a reward only for the saved.
