Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners? The Pharisees did not understand the Lord Jesus’ attitude to sit at the table with people they considered cursed and unworthy of God’s mercy and forgiveness.

Eating with them did not mean that the Messiah agreed with their wrongdoings; instead, it showed His desire to save them.

Through His attitude toward sinners, the Lord Jesus made His mission clear: He came to those who are excluded , lost, and despised , to forgive them and to reconcile them with God (Luke 5.32).
