Malachi 1: Israel Beloved of God
The burden of the Word of the Lord to Israel. The prophets did no pass on to the people their own messages but spoke plainly and directly what was ordered to them from Heaven. Through Malachi, the Most High called His people for a “meeting” to announce His decision. The Words of God were not friendly and comforting by heavy because of the indifference with which He was being treated. His claims were based on the disobedience and infidelity of the spiritual leaders and the people.
Thus, the Divine sentence was like the last cry of God against the mask of hyporisy that everyone used. After this, a period of 400 years followed without the presence of new prophets or revelations untill the coming of the Messiah.
All who despise God and His Word are subject to the same Judgment, which will happen more severely to those who are in the House of God but reject Him; because they are knowers of the Truth. Only sincere repentance can reverse a Divine sentence. But this must happen quickly before it is too late.
