Luke 15: The Parable of the Lost Sheep
He receives sinners. The Pharisees accused the Lord Jesus of being a friend of sinners. In fact, He was. The Messiah talked to prostitutes and ate with the tax collectors, people whom the religious leaders rejected.
Though He fought against sin , the Savior made Himself accessible to sinners in order to give them an opportunity to repent and be save. He did this to fulfill the will of the Most High, Who had sent Him to save the lost.
In this way those who think they are righteous in the sight of God become enemies of Lord Jesus. On the other hand, broken and contrite sinners will find forgiveness in the Lord and enjoy His eternal friendship.
