Luke 11: The Model Prayer
Teach us to pray. Jews at an early age learn the Scriptures, Jewish rituals and prayers taught y their parents and elders. However, the disciples realized that in their daily living with the Lord Jesus, His prayers were different from prayers they did.
They observed the LOrd;s daily prayers and saw fervor, devotion, humility, and intimacy with God, so one them asked the Master to teach them to pray.
This humble request drew a surprising response from the Savor. He explained that prayer is not an exact recital of words, much less a method that automatically guarantees answers, but a conversation between son and father.
In other words, prayers to God should not contain eloquent expressions of religious repetitions, but sincere words from the depths of the soul that show thirst to possess and maintain intimacy with the Most High.
