This chapter follows the judgment of the Chaldean Empire. This judgment came as a result of Babylon’s sins and also as a way to deliver Israel from oppression.

The Babylonian kingdom played an important role in the past and will remain in history until the last days of humankind.

Babylon now represents the mother of false religions and is the source of the political, religious, and economic powers that are at the service of evil. Just as ancient Babylon literally fell, the present Babylon will succumb to the judgment of the Most High (Rev. 18.8)
