Jeremiah 15: The Lord Will Not Relent
Cast them out of My Sight. When referring to Moses and Samuel, the two great intercessors of Israel (Exod. 32.11-14, 30-32; 1 Sam. 7.8-9; 12.19-25), the Lord God shows the seriousness of the nation’s sin and how He was ready to execute His Judgement.
Although Moses and Samuel’s prayers always had an effect in the past, it would not have any effect this time because unlike their ancestors, the people had exceeded in iniquities and had not repented.
Prayers of intercession are important but, on some occasions, they are limited. The Most High responds to all who cry out to Him in favor of anyone. By doing this, He preserves their life to give them more time and opportunities. But the Lord does this for a certain period of time, waiting for the much-needed repentance of those who are in sin.
