Genesis 39: Joseph a Slave in Egypt
Joseph ws torn from his land, his family and the love and protection of his father and was sold as a slave in Egypt.
But the Lord was with Joseph because he was a faithful and God-fearing man, as can be seen from the huge test he went through.
At times, we go through situations that are difficult to understand: injustice, persecution, humiliation.
Why does God permit this? Without a doubt, there is a purpose, a baptism of fire (Matt. 3.11). When we go through it, we become even more useful for the Lord. Battles ar good for out faith. They cause us to grow spiritually so that we can take much larger steps in life (Rom. 5.3-4).
