Joshua 4: The Memorial Stones
As soon as the people crossed the Jordan, God commanded that a memorial be built to keep His great works alive in the memories of the children of Israel. The Lord used this method so that no one would ever forget His accomplishments.
Whenever families passed by the memorial, they were to teach their children about what happened there. By sharing the great deeds of the past, God would be exalted again, and the faith of the people would be revived.
