Luke 4: Satan Tempts Jesus
He was led by the Spirit. The great secret of the Lord Jesus’ victorious life as a Man in this world was the total surrender of His will to the Father.
He let Himself be guided by God at all times, so He made no choice between stayi8ng in the city and going to the wilderness. His submission allowed the Holy Spirit to lead Him to an inhospitable and solitary place.
According to the Scriptures, being in the wilderness means living in solitude, scarcity, and difficulties with heat of the day and the unbearable cold of the night.
But the same Spirit who led the Lord into the wilderness sustained Him for forty days and forty nights uninterruptedly.
This is exactly the case with the children of God who are led into the spiritual wilderness, where they grow in faith, trust, and prayer, and learn to depend totally on the Most High.
