Joseph could not restrain himself. the moment finally came for Joseph to let loose the anguish that had een pent-up inside of him. He laid bare what was in his soul: “I am Joseph” (v.4). At this extraordinary moment, he showed forgiveness, compassion and true love. In the same way, the Lord Jesus on the cross said, “Father, forgive them, for they don not know what they do” (Luke 23.34). Forgiveness reconciles us to God and to other people and gives us the ability to move forward with our goals.
