Mark 6: Jesus Rejected at Nazareth
Carpentry was not a diminishing occupation among the people, but by mentioning that the Messiah was a carpenter, they wanted to show that He had no qualifications to be a rabbi and teach with wisdom. People were refusing to believe in His Words because He had not attended the religious schools of Jerusalem. The relatives and neighbors of the Lord Jesus found it hard to believe in His Divinity because they were fond of their own thoughts about Him.
