Jeremiah 39: The Fall of Jerusalem
The siege. Jeremiah had foreseen the fall of Judah, the invasion of Jerusalem, and the destruction of the Temple.
But in each message, he emphasized that if the people repented they could avoid God’s judgement.
The Most High however was not called upon nor were His Words listened to, for that reason the prophet recorded the tragedy he announced many years before.
The siege or Jerusalem lasted around two years, causing famine, fear, and barbarity until the Chaldean army, considered the greatest army in the world at the time, assaulted, and invaded the walls and the gates of the cities.
