The religious faith and the pure faith. The people used to rely on the promise that God made, saying He would always be in Zion. Thus, they became complacent with their faith and others turned away completely from the Lord.

The instruction of the false priests was that the Temple would protect the nation and that the Most High would never all the destruction of Jerusalem and His House.

But, That was a lie. No Divine promise can be dissociated from obedience, for the same Word that speaks about blessings for the faithful, also speaks about judgment for the unfaithful (Deut. 11.26), Loyalty to a religion, to a religion, to symbols or rituals did not spare Israel and it does not spare anyone today. Only those who have a pure faith to obey the Most High can enjoy safety and Salvation.
