Honesty is part of the character of the righteous. Just as the Most High Is perfect and upright, so are those who belong to Him, which is why the Lord takes pleasure in them.

Based on this, instead of trying to hurt someone in order to obtain personal gain, an honest person consults their conscience and is fair with their neighbor.

God does not deceive anyone, and He does not tolerate deceitful conducts. On the contrary, He hates fraud and any kind of cheating. This is proven by the fact that He was attentive to the fraud in the weights used by the merchants in those times. (Lev. 19.35-36; Deut. 25.13-15). He who usurps another’s right does what is abominable in the sight of the Lord.
