2 Corinthians 13: Coming with Aurhority
Examine yourself. On several occasions, some Corinthians cast doubt on Paul’s authority. However, their discipline was a sign they were probably not really converted.
Therefore, the apostle exhorted them to examine themselves. Only then would they know whether they belong to the Lord Jesus or not.
We need to know our own spiritual condition by examining ourselves carefully in order to find signs that we are saved, such as sanctification, fear, and obedience. Only through self-examination of the soul and personal fruits can we know our true state before God.
