1 Corinthians 16: Collection for the Saints
The great and effective door that Paul spoke about was an opportunity to evangelize the inhabitants of Ephesus – a large and wealthy city that was considered as a political, economic, and commercial center of the Greco-Roman world.
The Lord Jesus id the One Who opens doors for His Work to progress, but not all His servants are wise as the apostle to seize these “open doors.” And the same God Who opens doors breaks people’s hearts so that they can convert.
Through this, we see that every time the Gospel is preached effectively, it produces Salvation.
That is why the devil rises against us to stop the work of evangelization, as he did with Paul: but Though he faced strong opposition, he remained firm and committed to his mission.
