1 Samuel 21: David and the Holy Bread
Although the holy bread was received for priest (Lev. 24. 9), Ahimelech acted wise by giving it to David, so that he could give it to his hungry soldiers.
The Lord Jesus referred to this incident when the Pharisees confronted him after the disciples had plucked heads of grain and eaten down on the Sabbath (Matt. 12. 3-4).
The Messiah wanted to show that if God had not punished David or the soldiers for eating the shewbread, why would he condemn His disciples for plugging heads of grain on the Sabbath?
When a person becomes religious, they start to have a condemning attitude, like the priests in the times of the Lord Jesus. No one should judge the faith and attitudes of other person. Each of us must examine and take care of ourselves.
